Heart & Mission

Diverse veterans — young and older, male and female — healing together at Safe Harbor Ranch
Safe Harbor Ranch
Our Mission

They Gave Everything.
We Give Back.

Our veterans sacrifice so much for the freedoms we often take for granted — time away from family, missed birthdays, holidays, and moments that can never be recaptured. They face dangers most of us will never know, and many return home carrying invisible wounds that don't heal on their own.

PTSD, mental illness, and the devastating reality of veteran suicide touch too many lives. We lose approximately 22 veterans every single day to suicide. These aren't just statistics — they are fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, and friends who answered the call to serve with honor and courage.

Safe Harbor Ranch was founded on one simple belief: no veteran should have to fight their hardest battle alone. We are a safe haven — a place where veterans and their families can find healing, hope, community, and a clear path forward into civilian life.

Through emotional support animals, professional therapy, hippotherapy, music therapy, water therapy, job placement assistance, VA home benefits navigation, and meaningful family involvement, we walk alongside veterans every step of the way. Because healing is not a destination — it's a journey, and it's one we take together.

“Safe Harbor Ranch — where healing begins, family is restored, and veterans find their peace.”

Our Programs

Healing Through Connection

Safe Harbor Ranch offers a full range of programs designed to address the physical, emotional, psychological, and practical needs of veterans and their families — from healing to housing to meaningful work.

Equine-Assisted Therapy

There's something powerful about the connection between a veteran and a horse. Hippotherapy has been shown to reduce PTSD symptoms, lower anxiety, and help veterans rebuild trust — in themselves and in others.

Our trained animal therapists will guide each session, creating a safe space where healing happens naturally through the bond between human and animal.

Note: Equine therapy will be introduced once the facility is fully built and we've welcomed our second or third wave of veterans through the program. We need to acquire additional property to make room for horses. This is a key part of our long-term vision for Safe Harbor Ranch.

Emotional Support

Support Animals That Heal

For many veterans, an emotional support animal is the first step toward healing. The unconditional love of an animal breaks through walls that words sometimes can't.

Our support animal program serves veterans of all ages and backgrounds — young men and women fresh from service, mid-career veterans, and those who served decades ago. Every veteran deserves support.
